GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines -- An initial plan to bring supposed witnesses in the Maguindanao massacre to Manila was aborted Thursday due to continuing concerns over safety, according to former Defense Secretary and administration presidential candidate Gilberto Teodoro Jr.
?We still need to patch some things up and tie up some loose ends,? he told reporters who flew into this city from Manila on tips that Teodoro will escort the witnesses to the capital.
Teodoro, who was interviewed in the airport here, declined to say how many witnesses there were, but said they include persons who saw the crime scene and others who could provide ``circumstantial evidence.?
