MANILA, Philippines? The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has again topped the latest awareness and performance survey of government agencies, posting a 100-percent awareness rating and an approval rating of 65 percent, according to Pulse Asia?s Ulat ng Bayan.
The Department of Education and Department of Health also obtained high ratings in the survey conducted on October 22-30, Pulse Asia said.
The survey showed a 100-percent national awareness rating for the DSWD in terms of its mandate and what it did for the people.
While the DSWD garnered an approval rating of 65 percent, its disapproval rating was only 9 percent.
Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza I. Cabral in a statement said the ratings were a big boost to the morale of DSWD personnel.
?We are assured the public and the sectors which we serve continue to recognize and feel satisfied with the way we deliver services to them,? Cabral said.
The survey showed Cabral obtained a 45-percent approval rating, six points up from the 39-percent rating she received in August.
She also garnered a 75-percent national awareness rating, up 6 percent from August.
Respondents in Luzon posted the highest awareness of Cabral with 82 percent, while respondents in Mindanao gave her the highest approval rating of 51 percent on her performance.
The survey noted that 51 percent of the respondents said the most important service they have received from the government during the recent typhoons was relief assistance.
