Sotto files estafa rap vs BMW buyer

MANILA, Philippines?Former senator and current Dangerous Drugs Board chairman Vicente Sotto III has filed an estafa complaint against a supposed lawyer who allegedly defrauded him of P2.5 million in payment for Sotto?s car.

In a three-page complaint, Sotto named the respondent as Rico Alpapara of Sineguelas St. in Valle Verde I, Pasig City.

The DDB chairman alleged that Alpapara, who introduced himself as a lawyer, allegedly defrauded him of P2.5 million in postdated checks after the respondent bought Sotto?s BMW sedan in 2007.
