SAN PEDRO, Laguna, Philippines?Five persons were arrested Thursday morning when police raided a suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) den in Imus town, Cavite, a police official said.
Superintendent Steve Ludan, Cavite police intelligence and investigation officer, said Rochelle Santander, Ogie "Kalbo" Alcaparaz, Janice Lugao, Dante del Rosario and Josie Panis were arrested in the 5 a.m. raid in the village of Poblacion 4 Halang.
Ludan said six other persons were also arrested after the police caught them having a pot session, while 36 others who were believed to be frequenting the said drug den were also accosted by the authorities for a drug test.
Police recovered at least 15 sachets of shabu and other drug paraphernalia. They have yet to give the exact amount of the illegal drugs in the sachets.
The raid was a joint operation of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Cavite police, based on the search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 22 of Imus.
Police are now tracking down a certain James Magno who was also a subject of the warrant but was not around during the raid.
"Police had been monitoring (the drug den), especially recently that it had been blatantly operating, involving even the minors," Ludan said.
