MANILA, Philippines ? Initial estimates on damages caused by Typhoon ?Pepeng? (international name: Parma) has reached almost P800 million, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said Tuesday.
Damages to infrastructure was estimated at P42.75 million while damages to agriculture was pegged at P741.21 million, the NDCC said in its latest situation report.
A total of 70,491 families or 338,302 persons were reportedly affected from Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 5, the National Capital Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region, the national disaster council said.
The casualty count remains at 30 with a total of 16 fatalities, 12 injured while two remain missing from the provinces of Benguet, Quezon, Ifugao, Pangasinan, and La Trinidad, the NDCC said.
The NDCC identified the casualties as Jonie Cadasa, 8, Jerick Cadasa, 10, Alex Rufino Cadaza, 32, Ernesto Gabayno, 55, Lan-oy Cadasa, 14, Jeffrey Akangan, 17, Virgilio Naggoc, 18 who died in a landslide in Ampucao Itogon, Benguet.
Other fatalities were identified as Catalina KidpalosTabora, 70, Laruan Tabora, 69, Zennia Tabora Galbey, 27, Rustom Galbey, 24, and Dapney Galbey, 9 who also died in a landslide in Busi Beckel, La Trinidad.
In Buenavista, Quezon province, one victim identified as Arcell Magpayo, 84, reportedly died after being hit by a fallen tree.
Meanwhile, two other unidentified bodies were recovered in Mayoyao, Ifugao, while another body was recovered from Calasiao, Pangasinan, the NDCC said.
