MANILA, Philippines ? Four cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) tested positive for the Influenza A(H1N1) virus and were undergoing treatment, the academy?s superintendent said.
The four were among 56 cadets who were tested for A(H1N1) because they exhibited flu symptoms, said Chief Superintendent Danilo Abarzosa.
While 52 tested negative for the disease, they were quarantined at the PNPA infirmary at Camp Castañeda in Silang town, Cavite province. The infirmary is located one kilometer away from the main academy grounds, Abarzosa said.
The four cadets with A(H1N1) were being treated with antibiotics, he said.
Abarzosa said PNPA facilities have been disinfected as an information drive on the disease was launched.
