MANILA, Philippines -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will go on self-quarantine when she returns to the country from a three-nation swing as a precautionary measure amid the spread of the deadly H1N1 virus, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Wednesday.
Arroyo embarked on a trip to Japan and Brazil and is making a side trip to Colombia before returning home over the weekend.
?The President and her party when they come home will submit themselves to thermal scanning and for that matter, among themselves, will undertake voluntary quarantine," Ermita said in his weekly briefing.
He did not say, however, how many days the President would keep herself out of the public.
