MANILA, Philippines? Finally breaking their silence, top officials of the Catholic group Couples for Christ (CFC) admitted on Friday they have relinquished their posts on the board of the volunteer group Gawad Kalinga (GK).
"GK is focused on nation building and on poverty alleviation that will necessitate that it mainstreams and partners with all sectors of society," CFC executive director Joe Tale said in a statement.
Tale stressed, however, that despite giving up GK to a new set of independent officials, CFC members will continue supporting GK projects.
He said the GK and the CFC did not split up in the "real" sense.
