Senate eyes more funds to automate polls

Bill on supplemental budget

MANILA, Philippines -- A bill proposing a supplemental budget to automate the elections in 2010 has been filed at the Senate.

Senator Edgardo Angara filed Senate Bill 2984, known as “An Act Appropriating the Sum of P11, 301, 790, 000 Billion as Supplemental Appropriation for an Automated Election System and for Other Purposes.”

Angara is chairman of the finance committee.
