MANILA, Philippines -- The tail end of a cold front and an inter-tropical convergence zone are bringing rains to Luzon and Mindanao, respectively, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Saturday.
Pagasa said the cold front was causing cloudy skies over Luzon and could scatter rains over the region, particularly the eastern sections of northern and central Luzon.
Also, the surge of the northeast monsoon was expected to affect the coastal areas of Luzon.
On the other hand, the inter-tropical convergence zone was affecting Mindanao and would bring mostly cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms.
Pagasa also raised the possibility of flashfloods and landslides in these areas.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with chances of rain showers or thunderstorms, it said in a weather bulletin.
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast are expected to blow into Luzon and Visayas. Coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The weather bureau has not detected the presence of any major weather disturbances within the country's area of responsibility.
