MANILA, Philippines -- A coalition of organizations against the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) has asked the Supreme Court to stop the implementation of the treaty that the Senate ratified recently, according to a radio report.
Radio dzMM said the Magkaisa Junk JPEPA Coalition filed a motion Monday asking the high tribunal to issue a temporary restraining order. At the same time, members of the group condemned the 16 senators who ratified the treaty that would liberalize trade of goods and services between the Philippines and Japan.
