MANILA, Philippines -- A Manila court is expected to come out with a resolution Thursday on whether or not to stop the Board of Marine Inquiry (BMI) from looking into the MV Princess of the Stars tragedy.

Sulpicio Lines presented expert witnesses before a Manila court to strengthen their allegations that the BMI has no jurisdiction or authority to conduct investigation of sea tragedies, including the sinking of the ill-fated MV Princess of the Stars.

Sulpicio Lines and the witnesses claimed that Marina has the exclusive authority to conduct sea accident investigation.
