MANILA, Philippines -- King Mswati III of Swaziland will pay the country for a two-day state visit on May 25 and 26, the first by a king from the African kingdom.

King Mswati will actually be arriving in the country on Friday for a private trip to Cebu and Bohol before beginning his official visit.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the King will meet on May 26 to discuss areas of cooperation in trade, higher education, and international initiatives, a Palace statement said.

On the same day, Arroyo will host a state banquet for the King and his party on the same day.

The visit is expected to yield agreements on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, and lead to the establishment of a bilateral consultative mechanism between the Philippines and Swaziland.

With the King are his 13th wife, Inkhosikati Lankhambule, his 23rd daughter Princess Buhlebetive, his brother Prince Lonkhokhela, and his sister Princess Msindvose.

Other members of his delegation are Chief Maphokela Shabalala, chief of the Swazi Royal Court, and Foreign Minister Moses Mathendele Dlamini.

Swaziland is a kingdom in Southern Africa with a population of 1.2 million.
