MANILA, Philippines ? (UPDATE 2) A radio anchor was shot dead in Malabon Thursday, according to reports culled by INQUIRER.net.
The victim, Len Flores Somera, 44, host of ?Arangkada 1530? from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on DZME, was shot by an unidentified assailant, Radyo Inquirer reported, quoting Neil Miranda, a co-employee.
Miranda said the victim was walking on Silonian Street, Barangay (village) Maysilo, on her way to the radio station at around 9:30 a.m. when the shooting happened.
Somera was rushed to Valenzuela General Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival after sustaining a single bullet wound to her nape, Police Officer 2 Roderick Cruz of the Northern Police District told INQUIRER.net.
Miranda said that Somera?s cell phone was missing and police initially suspect a robbery.
But Cruz said that an investigation was being conducted to determine the identity and motive of the suspect.
