MANILA, Philippines?An employee of Makati city hall was shot dead by a still unidentified assailant, who was in turn killed by pursuing lawmen Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Senior Superintendent Froilan Bonifacio said victim Mario Reyes, reportedly assigned at the clearing operations division, was dining at an eatery in Barangay (village) Pio del Pilar around 2:30 p.m. when attacked by the gunman.
The assailant was killed following a brief chase with policemen.
Police were still investigating the incident.
