Areas in Quezon City flooded after downpour

MANILA, Philippines?Some areas in Quezon City were flooded as heavy rains poured Thursday afternoon, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

According to the MMDA Metrobase, as of 6:40 p.m., the EDSA Aurora tunnel was submerged in gutter-deep floodwaters. Only one lane of its northbound section is passable, while two lanes are passable on its southbound lane.

The Tandang Sora?Commonwealth area was flooded ankle-deep, the MMDA said.

The Katipunan Avenue and N. Domingo Street near Broadway Centrum were flooded with six inches of water, the MMDA added.
