MANILA, Philippines ? Supreme Court Administrator and spokesman Jose Midas Marquez has condemned as an ?unfortunate incident,? the explosion that rocked the De La Salle University in Manila and injured dozens of students on Sunday.
?That was an unfortunate incident,? Marquez said, adding that they would await the findings of the police first before coming up with measures to prevent a repeat of this incident.
Initial reports by the police showed that the incident was caused by warring fraternities from different law schools.
But Manila Police District chief Roberto Rongavilla said they were still looking at other angles.
Provincial Prosecutor Emmanuel Velasco was among those who witnessed the incident. He said he was about five meters away from the area.
Another victim has been identified as Aileen Delamota from the Central Philippines University, a native of Iloilo. She was brought to the Manila Adventist Hospital.
