MANILA, Philippines -- Three robbers broke into an apartment of a hinese national in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday night and took off with at least P150,000 worth of valuables including a watch collection.
Wei Zhao, 32, a resident of San Pablo St., Barangay (village) Plainview in Mandaluyong City, reported the robbery to the Mandaluyong police on Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. after he came home to his apartment and found out that three locks to his front door were destroyed.
Police Officer 2 Danilo Patoc, Mandaluyong police investigator, said in his report that the robbers managed to scour all three rooms of the apartment and cart away a collection of watches, laptops, digital camera, MP3 and cash amounting to P150, 000.
At around 4 p.m. on that day, a neighbor of the victim saw three men carrying backpacks--one of them was wearing a ball cap--casually come out of the apartment.
The robbers, however, did not arouse suspicion from the neighbor who only learned about the robbery when Zhao arrived at his apartment, Patoc said.
The Mandaluyong city police suspected that members of the ?Akyat Bahay? gang may be behind the robbery.
