MANILA, Philippines ? At least four sections of Edsa will be closed to traffic Friday night for the weekly concrete re-blocking operation of the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Metro Manila Development Authority said Thursday.
Workers are set to repair a part of Edsa?s southbound lane, about 200 meters from the Ayala underpass ramp, according to Neomie Recio (not Noemi as earlier spelled), director of the MMDA traffic engineering center.
The second section, about 100 meters from the first area, to be repaired is near the ramp going to the Magallanes interchange, she added.
Both areas were part of the DPWH?s 2009 re-blocking operations but were left out.
Meanwhile, two sections on Edsa?s northbound lane will also be repaired starting Friday night: an 18-meter-long section in front of the DPWH Region IV-B office past the Kamuning MRT; and a 21-meter-long portion near the National Irrigation Administration office. These were closed last week but workers were not able to repair the area because of equipment problems, Recio said.
At least two more sections of Edsa northbound are up for repair starting Friday, but Recio, as of press time, has yet to receive details from the DPWH.
