MANILA, Philippines -- Four sections of EDSA in the northbound direction will be closed to traffic beginning Friday night for weekend re-blocking operations of the Department of Public Works and Highways, according to the Metro Manila Development Authority.

A portion of the outer lane before Main Avenue in Cubao will be part of this week?s road repairs, engineer Noemi Recio of the MMDA traffic engineering group told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in a phone interview.

Another section would involve a part of the lane after the Aurora underpass just before New York street also in Cubao, she said.

A lane in front of the DPWH Region 4-B office after the Kamuning MRT station will also be repaired. The last section to be closed to traffic for repairs would be a lane near the National Irrigation Administration office, she added.

The MMDA seals off particular sections for road works starting 10 p.m. Friday. It opens repaired portions of EDSA early Monday morning.
