MANILA, Philippines?(UPDATE 6) A magnitude 5 earthquake struck 50 kilometers west of Metro Manila Tuesday evening, the US Geological Survey said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology put the magnitude at 5.2.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The inland quake, which occurred 29 kilometers southeast of Olongapo City, hit at 6:54 p.m. at a depth of 112.4 kilometers, the USGS said.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Manila, Pasay City, and Makati; Intensity 3 in Quezon City and Tagaytay; Intensity 2 in Indang, Cavite and Plaridel, Bulacan, said Renator Solidum, director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Solidu said the quake was tectonic in origin and related to movements in the Manila fault.
