MANILA, Philippines -- A fire partially damaged a building inside the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Christmas Day.

A report from the camp?s base police said the fire at past 1 p.m. Friday suddenly gobbled up the heap of discarded cardboard boxes dumped beside the Non Uniformed Personnel Association Inc. hall.

Authorities were still determining exactly how the fire started.

Alert firemen were able to put out the blaze minutes later, but it partly burned the building?s exterior ceiling.

Nobody was reported injured in the incident.
