MANILA, Philippines? A 37-year-old carpenter surrendered to authorities after hacking his neighbor to death in Muntinlupa City early morning Sunday.

In a report, SPO1 Ronnie Tamondong said suspect Roel Cadis of Sitio Bagong Silang, Sucat, admitted to killing Ronnie Evangelista, 46, around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Initial investigation showed that the two men had a heated argument at Purok 5. The suspect went home and returned with a bolo, hacking the victim repeatedly until he fell onto the pavement.

Bothered by his conscience, Cadis turned himself over to the barangay police and admitted to the crime.

Cadis was detained at the Muntinlupa police station while the victim's remains would undergo autopsy.
