MANILA, Philippines?Police are still looking for the vehicle driven by an American citizen who allegedly shot and killed the son of a Malacanang official over a traffic argument last week.
But Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, chief of the Quezon City police homicide division, said in an interview that whoever would be found hiding the blue Honda CRV vehicle used by Jason Ivler would also be charged criminally.
"We are still looking for the vehicle. But whoever is hiding it will also be charged," Elenzano said in a phone interview.
Quezon City police are set to file murder charges against the 27-year-old Ivler at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office at 1 p.m. today.
Ivler, the stepson of British economist Stephen Pollard, was tagged as responsible for the death of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr., son of Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr.
Ivler allegedly shot the younger Ebarle Wednesday night along Santolan road over a traffic altercation.
Ivler immediately fled after the incident.
Elenzano said that even Pollard could face criminal charges if he was found to have any involvement in the incident.
He added that Pollard's diplomatic rights were already waived.
Earlier, Philippine National Police Director General Jesus Verzosa has issued an "all points bulletin" ordering all police land, air, and sea units to hunt down Ivler.
