Rape suspect shot while being escorted for inquest

MANILA, Philippines?A rape suspect was seriously wounded Tuesday afternoon when he was shot by still unidentified assailants while being taken by policemen to Manila City Hall for inquest.

Superintendent Jimmy Tiu, of the Manila police, identified the casualty as Eliseo Ramos, who was shot while in police custody in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
