MANILA, Philippines -- Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Vice Mayor Francisco ?Isko? Moreno formally announced their reelection bids in the 2010 elections amid the cheers of about 10,000 supporters at the Bonifacio Shrine in Manila on Monday.
The event marked the official merger of Lim?s Lipunan para sa Kapayapaan, Katarungan at Kaunlaran (KKK, Society for Peace, Justice and Progress) with the Liberal Party.
It also reaffirmed Lim?s team-up with Moreno despite the claims of another Manila mayoral aspirant, former Philippine National Police chief Avelino Razon, that Moreno had agreed to be his running mate in the polls.
Moreno earlier said that he once agreed to be Razon?s running mate but had changed his mind. The young vice mayor said his decision to join forces with Lim for the 2010 polls was final.
