MANILA, Philippines – Police will neutralize the remaining members of a gang that has been responsible for the wave of robberies in Metro Manila, an official said Thursday, following the arrest of two alleged suspects who confessed their participation in the crime and identified their accomplices.
"This will put an end to the Alvin Flores group," Police Director Roberto Rosales said in a press conference Thursday at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
The combined operation of the NCRPO, Southern Police District, Police Regional Office 1, Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group led to the arrest of suspected members Dennis Serquiña and Warlito Rodriquito who were presented in the press conference.
Footages of a heist in Alabang in May 2009 and of the brazen noontime robbery in Greenbelt 5 mall on October 11 were also shown.
Serquiña and Rodriquito named the other members in the videos.
Rosales said the Alvin Flores Gang was responsible for 23 robberies in Metro Manila in 2008 and nine robberies in 2009.
