MANILA, Philippines?Philippine National Police chief Jesus Verzosa on Wednesday ordered the revocation of all gun licenses issued to a man who reportedly brandished a handgun at ABS-CBN TV host Cheryl Cosim after he nearly sideswiped her sport utility vehicle in Quezon City Monday afternoon.

Verzosa directed the Civil Security Group and the Quezon City Police District to confiscate at least seven firearms previously registered under the name of Richard Ordońez, as per records of the Firearms and Explosives Division.

Cosim, 35, a resident of 10 Windgate Villas on Visayas Avenue, was on her way home with four companions, including her driver, when a black Nissan Cefiro?with plate number XPY 497 traced by authorities to Ordońez?nearly sideswiped her Mitsubishi Outlander on Congressional Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Cosim told police that when the Cefiro reached the corner of Congressional and Visayas avenues, it stopped and the driver got out of the vehicle. She said the car blocked the path of her SUV and its male driver got out. They were unable to hear what the man was saying, but saw that his gun was pointed at them and that he was apparently telling them to get out of their vehicle.

She said that when she and her companions refused to alight from their vehicle, the man, who was wearing a white shirt and a pair of black pants, later got into his car and sped off.

A check with the Land Transportation Office by the police showed that the Cefiro was owned by a Richard Ordońez of Project 6, Quezon City.

Police said they showed Cosim a photograph of the car owner and she positively identified him as the man who allegedly harassed her.

?This (gun-toting) incident is now being investigated by the police,? Verzosa said at the sidelines of a meeting of the National Firearms Control Program in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Chief Superintendent Elmo San Diego, QCPD police chief, police investigators already filed a criminal case against Ordońez at the Quezon City prosecutor?s office.
