MANILA, Philippines ? The National Capital Region Police Office will look into the apparent absence of policemen who could have prevented the brazen daylight robbery and shooting of a Filipino-Chinese couple in Parañaque City on All Saints? Day.
NCRPO Director Roberto Rosales said on Monday that he would look into any loopholes on the police deployment, as the entire police force was placed on full alert status on Sunday.
Because of the maximum alert status, Rosales said there should have been policemen deployed along major thoroughfares and busy intersections, where the robbery took place.
Couple Ruben and Jocelyn Chua and Carmelta Cho were wounded when their vehicle was accosted by two suspects onboard a motorcycle along the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard. The suspects then fired at the victims? vehicle and took away their belongings.
Rosales also ordered a more intensified anti-criminality campaign after the incident, reiterating the implementation of the existing ?no plate, no travel? policy.
