MANILA, Philippines?A Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency employee has filed a complaint before the Quezon City prosecutors office against her superior for sexual harassment.
In a four-page affidavit lodged on Friday, the complainant, a supply officer of the PDEA logistics management office filed a complaint against Blue Marders, her then immediate supervisor.
She filed a complaint for violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Stardards for Public Officials and Employees, claiming Marders sexually harassed her from 2008-2009.
In her affidavit, she claimed that her boss would scold her and embarrass her in front of her other people, incidents she said were witnessed by her other officemates.
?He would often belittle me by saying, ?Ang tanga-tanga mo talaga, para kang di ka nakapag-aral (You?re really stupid, it?s as if you did not go to school)!? He would say bad words to me whenever I committed mistakes. The way he deals with my mistakes was unbecoming of him as he would often make me feel useless,? she said.
The complainant alleged that the verbal abuses ?have become habitual and our bad encounters more frequent,? causing her to be traumatized.
In her affidavit, the complainant cited four instances of alleged verbal abuse which happened between 2008 and 2009.
The PDEA employee also alleged that her former boss also came on to her by ?intentionally hugging me, touching my breast, forcing me to kiss him on the lips and forcibly grabbing my hand to touch his penis.?
?He would also ask for a date and tell me how he could better satisfy me compared to my boyfriend,? the complainant alleged.
She added that she never aired her grievances against the respondent because she was always intimidated by her former boss, but added that the alleged incidents have been affecting her work.
?For every harassment that he makes to me, this is not a mere joke and not even a sign of endearment ... I am prepared for whatever consequences ..., ? the complaint read.
The INQUIRER tried but failed to get the reaction of Marders.
Derrick Carreon, PDEA spokesperson, also declined to speak on the matter, saying the case was not related to the operations of the anti-narcotics agency.
?The case has nothing to do with PDEA as an agency. It?s not worth exploring,? he said in a mobile phone conversation. With a report from Marlon Ramos
