BATANGAS CITY, Philippines?The ferry trip from Mindoro to Batangas was cancelled Friday afternoon due to prevailing winds and rough sea conditions in the Calapan sea, the Coast Guard station commander said.

Lt. Algier Ricafrente, Calapan station commander, said he advised the Supercat trip cancelled at 3 p.m. because of strong winds and waves.

Trips of other vessels, especially the RoRo (roll-on roll-off) ferries, however, are still normal, Ricafrente said.

He added that it would not be risky if the trip is pursued but the Coast guard was considering the condition of the passengers.

"The passengers might find it difficult to board while at the pier because of the strong waves,? he said.
