MANILA, Philippines—About 30 US Navy personnel on Thursday conducted a medical and dental mission for victims of Tropical Storm "Ondoy" temporarily sheltered at the Nangka Elementary School in Marikina City.

The American servicemen, accompanied by their Filipino counterparts from the Armed Forces of the Philippines who also served as their interpreters, treated evacuees mostly for wounds they sustained from debris while wading through flooded streets.

The servicemen arrived at Nangka around 11 a.m. and will hold the mission until 5 p.m. Thursday.
