MANILA, Philippines ? Continuous rains brought by Typhoon ?Emong? caused heavy traffic in major roads throughout Metro Manila on Thursday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

As of posting time, traffic is slow-moving in southbound lane of EDSA particularly from Magsaysay to Aurora, Highway 54 to Guadalupe, and Magallanes to Taft, the MMDA Metrobase said.

In the northbound lane of EDSA, traffic is also moderate to heavy from Kalayaan to Guadalupe; North Avenue to SM Annex; and Balintawak to Bagong Barrio.

Traffic is also heavy along España-Lacson, MMDA said.

No flooded areas have been reported as of this time.
