MANILA, Philippines--A fire believed to be caused by faulty electrical wiring razed a military building inside Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City before dawn Monday and damaged some P7 million worth of property.
SFO1 Reynaldo Valler, arson investigator, said the blaze started from the transient room of the Philippine Navy Savings and Loans Association Inc. building around 3:30 a.m.
He said nobody was occupying the room at the time of the fire, which could have been caused by defective electrical system.
According to Valler, the blaze only reached first alarm, but it totally gutted the single-story building before it was put out about 4:50 a.m.
He said it was still unclear if cash money was among those destroyed in the blaze.
