MANILA, Philippines ? (UPDATE) ABS-CBN Network top executives arrived at the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City on Friday to pay their respects to the late Trinidad "Trina" Etong, wife of the network's broadcaster Ted Failon.
ABS-CBN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gabby Lopez, President Charo Santos Concio, news heads Maria Ressa and Chari Villa, and other executives Cory Vidanes, Peter Musngi, and Linggit Tan arrived at around 2pm.
Lopez shook his head when asked if he has a statement for the Etong family.
ABS-CBN fielded their own security staff to prevent other media organizations from getting close to the chapel where Etong's remains lie in state.
Arlington's funeral director Cherry Villarino said the Etong family coordinated with the funeral home on the security detail.
Villarino also requested the journalists to stay put in the designated media area at the lobby as "other clients" were complaining that the media was all over the place.
Ted Failon also arrived Friday at Arlington with his daughter Kaye, using the back entrance on Guiraya Street to avoid the crowd of media waiting for him at the front entrance.
