Fire hits residential area in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Fire broke out in a residential area in Sta. Mesa, Manila Friday afternoon, an officer from the Bureau of Fire Protection in the National Capital Region said.

Fire investigators were still at the residential area at the corner of V. Mapa and Magsaysay in Sta. Mesa which was affected by the fire, said Fire Officer 3 Louie Abenales.

He said that the fire started from a still undetermined source at 12:57 p.m.

The blaze reached second alarm before it was put out at 1:36 p.m., said Abenales.
