MANILA, Philippines—The bodies of two persons were discovered in separate incidents Monday and Tuesday in Pasig City, the first a woman believed to have been electrocuted by an open wire, and the second a man found lying in a public market but bearing no external injury.
On Monday, the woman later identified as Marivic Guevarra, 28, was found in the laundry area of a videoke bar at 8 Pasig Boulevard, Bagong Ilog, the police said.
Cursory examination of the body showed that the victim, a bar entertainer, had burns in her left index finger and her head, indicating that she might have accidentally touched an open wire and was electrocuted, investigators said.
Senior Inspector Marilyn Lopez processed the scene for clues into the death of the victim, whose body was taken to Funeraria Sta Lucia for an autopsy, Police Officer 2 Higino Dancel said in a report.
The following day, a man identified as Rommy Pangga, about 50 years old, was found lying lifeless in the parking lot of the Pasig Public Market in the village of Malinao, the police said.
Police Officer 2 Norman Barcellano said the victim, who reportedly had no permanent address, was discovered bare-chested and wearing black shorts by Renato Banal, a traffic enforcer, at 12:45 p.m.
The body was found with no apparent sign of injury, although it was later taken to the Quiogue Funeral Parlor for an autopsy, the investigator said.
