MANILA, Philippines -- A businessman was shot dead by a still unidentified suspect in broad daylight and in front of his children Tuesday, a police official said.
Carmelo Llado, 40, was onboard his white Toyota Pajero (WNR-692) to bring his five children to school when a lone motorcycle riding suspect suddenly shot him in broad daylight at Santol Street, Barangay (village) Santol at 6:47 a.m., said Senior Police Officer 2 Jaime Billedo of Quezon City Police District Station 11.
Llado sustained four gunshot wounds and was rushed to the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center (UERMMC) but eventually died at 7:50 a.m., Billedo said.
Llado’s five children were unhurt.
The suspect, wearing a helmet and a black jacket, fled towards the direction of Manila, Billedo said.
Police are looking into a personal motive behind the killing.
Billedo said Llado reportedly warned his family of danger a few days back, but the family refused to provide any information to policemen.
