MANILA, Philippines -- A man on a motorcycle who police said was inebriated was seriously hurt in a head-on collision with a van before dawn in Pasig City on Sunday.
Jumar Pesas, 22, sustained serious wounds on the face and arms in the accident on Urbano Velasco street in Barangay (Village) Pinagbuhatan, Pasig.
Senior Police Officer 4 Luisito Enriquez of the Pasig City Traffic Office said in an interview that Pesas, whose helmet was hanging from his arm, was found unconscious and bleeding in the mouth following the crash.
Pesas was said to be speeding on his Kawasaki motorcycle at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when he rammed into the Isuzu van owned by one Raul Trinidad, which was on the opposite lane.
The motorcycle rider was brought to the Pasig General Hospital where he remains confined.
