MANILA, Philippines?Three suspected hired guns were killed and one was arrested at 6 p.m. Friday in an encounter with members of the Malabon police Special Weapons and Tactics in Malabon, police said.

Malabon polic chief Senior Superintendent Edgardo Villanueva said the gunmen engaged pursuing policemen in a shootout along Tenejeros Street after killing the security officer of Star Mall.

The victim was identified as Ricky Villagracia.

The arrested suspect was identified as Ernesto Errua.

Villanueva said the gunmen were aboard a tricycle during the pursuit operation.

SWAT team leader Senior Inspector Zosimo Sumagpang was wounded in the encounter, Villanueva said.
