MANILA, Philippines -- A man died of severe injuries early Friday after his car rammed into and under the cargo truck in front of him on Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.
Traffic police officers said rescuers had difficulty extracting the body of Ramuel Satin, of 11 Benedictine Street, Sta. Ana Subdivision, Sun Valley in Parañaque City, from the wreck because his car was wedged tightly under the truck, crushing the victim.
Police Officer 3 Ricky Tan of the Pasay City police's traffic enforcement unit said Satin was driving his silver Toyota Altis along the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard at around 1 a.m.
Police are still investigating if Satin, 44, was overspeeding or lost his brakes when he crashed into the truck driven by Nomeriano Saulo of San Gregorio, Sta. Rosa town in Nueva Ecija.
Satin was brought to the Ospital ng Maynila but died around 2 a.m. Friday because of severe head and body injuries.
Police are looking into any possible liabilities of Saulo.
