MANILA, Philippines -- Retired Army chief Lieutenant General Romeo Tolentino took the witness stand Tuesday at the hearing of the amparo petition for missing activist Jonas Burgos.

Tolentino denied that he said Burgos was the ?Ka Ramon? listed in the military order of battle. He also said the Army was not in the business of abducting people.

Burgos, a son of the late press freedom fighter Jose Burgos, was reportedly forcibly taken from a shopping mall in Quezon City on April 28, 2007. He has not been seen since.
