MANILA, Philippines--The Muntinlupa City government has signed an agreement with a cable TV station for the free and live telecast of the bout between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez in two places in the city.
Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro signed the contract with Solar Sports for the free showing of the bout, dubbed "Unfinished Business," on March 16, a Sunday.
Residents will not only have the chance to watch the boxing rematch for free, but on wide screen TV measuring 20 by 40 feet at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, which can seat thousands of people, and at the Cupang Elementary School.
"We want residents to fully enjoy watching and show their support for Pacquiao's boxing match, so we have made arrangements to show it in Muntinlupa City for free," the mayor said.
San Pedro also praised Pacquiao as a world-class boxer who has given much prestige and honor to the country.
"This free showing is the belated gift of the city government to residents in celebration of the city's Charter Day and 13th cityhood anniversary last March 1," the mayor added.
