MANILA, Philippines -- A fire has hit a slum area at the back of Sta. Isabel College in Taft Avenue, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The blaze which started at 10:11 a.m. was initially raised to fifth alarm, said Senior Fire Officer 1 Lewy Santos.
In a radio interview over dzBB, Senior Superintendent Pablito Cordeta said the fire had been put off 10:30 a.m.
No casualties were immediately reported but radio reports said traffic was heavy for north bound vehicles.
