MANILA, Philippines -- A huge pile of garbage at the Payatas dumpsite in Quezon City collapsed because of heavy rains Friday.

There were no reported casualties from the incident, said a report on radio dzBB, but authorities were quoted as saying it could take three days to clean up the collapsed portion of the dumpsite.

On July 10, 2000, over 200 persons were killed and at least 300 families left homeless when tons of garbage caved in on a slum community at the foot of the huge dumpsite.
