MANILA, Philippines -- ?People's Champ? Manny Pacquiao is this year's most searched person online in the Philippines, according to the annual report of Yahoo!

Pacquiao, who fought Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto this year, is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. His planned fight with former welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. is set to break revenue and viewership records.

Following Pacquiao in the list of most searched persons in Yahoo! Philippines is former President Corazon ?Cory? Aquino who died in August this year. Online and broadcast videos of her death and subsequent burial were among the most watched.

Rapper Francis Magalona, who died of leukemia in March this year, trailed at third.

Not surprisingly, tropical storm ?Ondoy? (international name ?Ketsana?) was among the most discussed topics in the Philippines. Heavy rains brought by ?Ondoy? caused massive flash floods in parts of Metro Manila.

Pacquiao's mother, Dionisia, is the fifth most searched person in Yahoo! Philippines. The popularity of the son had extended to the mother, who has been getting product endorsements and some movie and TV tie-ins.

Other topics that topped the search for Yahoo! Philippines this year included the band Eraserheads, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, the wedding of Senator Manuel ?Mar? Roxas and broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, and the Philippine Basketball Association.
