STA. ROSA, Laguna ? (UPDATE) Convergys inagurated one of three new facilities located at Ayala-developed Nuvali Technohub here.
The Ohio-based outsourcing firm inaugurated its Nuvali facility consecutively with those in Cebu i3 in Cebu City and UP-Ayala Land Technohub in Quezon City.
Nuvali is billed as environmentally friendly business-residential community.
Convergys' facility is situated alongside a man-made lake and features, among others, bike ramps to encourage employees to take their bikes up higher floors and a water recycling system.
Convergys started taking calls early March and currently employs around 600 workers. It is designed to accommodate 900 workers.
Convergys now operates 12 facilities in the Philippines, employing a total of 16,000 workers.
Andrea Ayers, Convergys customer management president, said the company is looking to open two more sites this year and ramp up to 20,000 employees.
In an interview, Ayers stressed the importance of maintaining service levels as clients consolidate service providers they partner with to cut costs.
Convergys employs more than 60,000 agents in 84 contact centers worldwide, including those in the Philippines.
"The Philippines is a top priority for us in terms of our expansion offshore," she said. "Our primary driver for growth here is the quality of service we are able to offer."
