MAKATI CITY – Chip giant Intel Philippines has started an interactive campaign in keeping with its promotion of the new Core i7 processor.
The Hero Inside (www.intel.com/apac/hero/) comic book is a special online promotional program that features a series of interactive comic books developed using Adobe Flash. It is promoted across Asia-Pacific countries.
The main highlight of the web comics are the features of the Core i7, which are presented in a storyline wherein a lone hero uses the Core i7's processing power to defeat a horde of computer virus attacking the world.
Intel Philippines Marketing Manager Jerome Matti said the web comics campaign started in late November. There would be four chapters in the web comics and new chapters are uploaded every week.
Matti said the promotion is one of the few times that Intel has used creative online devices for marketing programs for their products.
Intel launched the Core i7 is the successor of the Core 2 processor launched by Intel last year. It primarily uses a new socket different from the Core 2 series. It also supports the new DDR3 memory components instead of DDR2 used by many computer processors.
The Core i7 has also re-implemented Hyper-threading, a feature found in previous Pentium processors. Hyper-threading essentially doubles the computing power of the processor thereby making it run most processor-heavy applications.
