Arizona-based JDA Software opens RP office

MANILA, Philippines -- JDA Software has opened a local office and appointed as country manager Cherokee Chamorro, a former Oracle executive.
JDA specializes in supply chain solutions for vertical markets including retail, manufacturing and distribution. The company is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and operates a regional office in Singapore.
Eight of the top 10 retailers in the Philippines use JDA software, according to Stephen McNulty, JDA regional vice president for Asia Pacific.
Meanwhile, Chamorro said JDA's near-term plan in the country is to touch base with local customers and update them on the company's latest solutions.
Chamorro also plans to strengthen alliances with JDA's local partners to support the company's client base.
"We want to develop new partners in key business areas in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, where business challenges and solutions in some important ways vary than those in Luzon and Manila," Chamorro said.
Chamorro previously headed Oracle Philippines applications sales for manufacturing, retail and distribution industries. He also served as sourcing and procurement manager for IT reseller Bayantrade.
