MANILA, Philippines -- Rodolfo Noel "Jun" Lozada Jr., the key witness in the Senate inquiry into the controversial National Broadband Network project, launched his blog Saturday to keep the conversation going in cyberspace.
It was launched during a Blogger's Kapihan event where Lozada was invited, organizers said.
Lozada's blog, which currently contains three entries, was initially developed by the Blogger's Kapihan, according to Mong Palatino, blogger and youth activist and member of the group.
"We helped him initially set up the blog, posting articles he has written. But today, he uploaded a new entry, which was a message to the youth," Palatino added.
In a telephone interview, Lozada said that he will be writing some of the articles that will be posted on his blog.
"But this will be a collaborative effort," he said, adding that the Blogger's Kapihan will help him put more content in his blog.
He said that his blog is meant to reach out to the youth and overseas Filipino workers whom he cannot go to for lack of time and resources.
"Even though I cannot go to all invitations in different schools, there is still a way for me to write and reach out to them," he added.
He revealed that that the "One million picture" campaign, which is an effort to collect all photos of Lozada with students, will be posted on his blog.
Lozada has exposed anomalies in the multi-million dollar NBN project allegedly involving former Commission on Elections chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. and First Gentleman Jose Migue Arroyo, among others.
"He was happy about the blog because he felt that he could not physically visit all 1,000 plus universities in the country. Through his blog, he can now interact with Filipinos, especially the youth," Palatino said.
Palatino said that the Blogger's Kapihan will help moderate comments on Lozada's blog.
"All comments are welcome -- for or against Jun. But we will discourage those that are personal and below the belt," Palatino added.
Palatino said that Lozada's blog is also a response to the increasing attacks against Lozada in cyberspace.
"This will be an alternative medium for him," he said.
